Cala is a dynamic traditional/folk band hailing from Inverness, Scotland. Rooted in the vibrant Scottish trad scene, their music fuses the rich heritage of Scottish folk with contemporary influences, creating a captivating and genre-blending sound.

The band's journey began in 2020 with the release of their debut single, "Causeway," which started to garner attention and secure them gigs at prominent Highland festivals such as Under Canvas, The Gathering, and Belladrum. In the summer of 2022, Cala embarked on a journey to the Isle of Lewis to record their highly anticipated debut album, "From the River," with the renowned producer Keith Morrison of Wee Studio. The album, released in March 2023, was celebrated with a sold-out album release party in their hometown of Inverness.

Since then, Cala has continued to captivate audiences, pursuing new festival crowds and returning to old favorites across Scotland. Their music has even taken them as far as France, where they performed at the prestigious Festival Interceltique du Lorient. With their unique blend of traditional and modern elements, Cala is poised to leave a lasting impression on the Scottish music landscape.
