As a talent buyer, you need to be able to access agent information for an artist, and sometimes it's not readily available on the artists' sites. I always turn to ROSTR to look up agent info for certain artists, and it's very helpful because it also lists management contacts and is super up-to-date with artist transitions between agencies. You can also view agents' entire rosters so you can build relationships with all of their clients.

I love analytics and data, and chartmetric is so robust for this. I mostly use it to look up artist's audiences in specific markets when gauging their potential draw, monthly spotify listeners and Instagram followers in a specific city are the key indicators that I look to. This is great for gauging how many fans an artist has when considering bookings for Cascade Equinox Festival & Gem and Jam Festival.

As the most comprehensive list of artists' event history, I default to Bandsintown to see artists' previous plays in a certain market. This isn't always perfect, but you can always cross-reference with other sites. It's a great feature on the artist marketing side, that as a promoter I ask artist teams to deploy Bandsintown messaging to their followers in a specific region to make fans aware of an upcoming event. It's a free tool for artists, so it's a very effective tool to promote all events.

My go-to streaming platform for new music, I use this to discover new artists through following certain playlists, and the "fans also like" suggestions are helpful when booking support acts for a club show. Their algorithm for finding similar music to your previous streams is also a great tool for artist discovery. They recently stopped doing Spotify presales which was a helpful tool for show announcements, but I'm looking forward to seeing what other event marketing tools they roll out next.

I think we've all been in the club and pulled out our phones to try and identify a song that's being played. I actually use it frequently when I'm out to eat, hear a song I like on the radio, or out at the grocery store. I'm always listening for good music!
I use Prism as a calendar manager for The Get Down in Portland. As a talent buyer, it's an extremely versatile tool to manage holds, build offers, and keeps expenses and settlements very organized. Anything to ease the day-to-day admin tasks is a big win in my book. Highly recommend this to any promoters and/or talent buyers out there!

Seetickets is a great platform for all event ticketing, and I especially enjoy the integrations with Bandsintown and Songkick. They've partnered with HIVE so you get a free account to handle all of your CRM needs. I've used a lot of different ticketing services over the years, and Seetickets consistently has the best customer service team. Not only for the event organizers, but for attendees as well. We use Seetickets for both of our festivals, Gem and Jam and Cascade Equinox.
